My consigliere sent me some interesting information today: Scott Adams, creator of "Dilbert", has written a small story called "God's Debris". Believe me, it's worth a read. It's half Deism, and half Xenogears. (That's a compliment, by the way.)
It's kind of bizarre hearing the universe explained by a cartoonist, but on the other hand, this is the sort of serious paper that could only be written by a comedian. After all, the job of comedy is to make observations and tell people what they see. Scientists make observations, too, but it's their job to see things that haven't been seen before. Writers have it easiest of all -- they get to use their imagination.
Once again, you can rest assured that I'll be working this into my novel.

Reminds of Plato's dialogues. It's starts off with a touch of straw-man to it, but not in any way that one can pin down with logic. It's a form of discovery-through-questioning that is sadly rarely seen these days.

Adams another one out there called "The Religious Wars". Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but loved "God's Debris".
