Alberta :: Elsewhere.

An update from the road today -- for the first time in months, I have a computer, camera, and (crucially) camera batteries all in the car with me, so I thought that perhaps I'd go somewhere memorable: The Torrington Gopher Hole Museum.

They're not so much "gopher holes" as they are "holes with gophers", though. But oh, what gophers! It's actually a collection of dioramas, with... well, perhaps I should just let you see for yourself.

Once again, I'm reminded of Neil Gaiman's hypothesis in "American Gods" that in North America, roadside attractions tend to pop up where magical ley lines intersect.

But more importantly, I'm reminded of just how much wonderful stuff is out there in this world... I'd philosophize a bit more about that, but the veggie-lover I ordered at Torrington "Pizza'N'More, Eh!" should be ready for pickup. If they stuff their pizza as full with peppers as they stuff their name with clichéd puns, it'll be a masterpiece.
